This Privacy Policy describes how Ground17 ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Logat application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Our Core Privacy Principle

Logat is designed as a local-first application. Your diary data — including photos, location history, entries, and AI-generated content — is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

2. Information We Access

To operate the App's features, Logat accesses the following information on your device:

2.1 Photo Library

  • What we access: Metadata and thumbnails of photos on your device (date, location embedded in EXIF data, file path)
  • Why: To index your photos, generate diary timelines, and create event summaries
  • Where it's stored: Locally in an on-device database (SQLite)

2.2 Location Data

  • What we access: Your device's GPS location (when you use location-based features such as the map view or location picker)
  • Why: To tag diary entries and events with geographic data, and to generate location-based memory clusters
  • Where it's stored: Locally on your device only

2.3 Notifications

  • What we access: Notification scheduling (no personal data is sent off-device)
  • Why: To deliver memory reminders, milestone alerts (e.g., 100-day anniversaries), and daily diary prompts

3. AI Features

Logat uses AI to generate event summaries, diary recommendations, and notification messages. Some AI features may send anonymized, minimal context (such as dates or generic event descriptions) to an AI API service to generate text. We do not send identifiable personal data, photo content, or precise location coordinates to any AI service.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store:

  • Your name, email address, or any account information
  • Photos or media files (only metadata is indexed)
  • Precise GPS coordinates to any remote server
  • Behavioral analytics or usage statistics
  • Advertising identifiers

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services which may have their own privacy practices:

  • Google Maps: Used to display map views of your diary events. Google's Privacy Policy applies to map rendering.
  • AI API provider: Used for generating diary summaries and notification content. Only minimal, non-personal context is sent.

6. Data Storage and Security

All your diary data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. We do not have access to this data. The security of your data depends on your device's security settings (screen lock, encryption, etc.).

We recommend enabling device-level encryption and keeping your device software up to date.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times. You can delete your data by:

  • Deleting individual entries within the App
  • Uninstalling the App (which removes the local database)

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly within the App or by uninstalling it.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
